End Of A Chapter For N-Level Student-Athletes

GCE N-Level Results Release

Fifteen student-athletes who took the GCE N-Level examinations in 2021 waited with bated breath as the results were handed to them in a classroom on 17 December 2021. The N-Level batch in the Class of 2021 has had a challenging two years as they had to prepare for the major examinations amidst the pandemic.

As a result, the Normal Academic and Normal Technical student-athletes had much reason to rejoice when they opened up their results slips. All 15 of them passed the GCE N-Level examinations and progressed to the next stage of their education journey.

The 10 student-athletes who took their Normal (Academic) examinations were eligible to progress to Secondary 5. Among them was Dini Irdina Mohamed Akhirudin from the Track and Field Academy. She expressed her happiness at achieving good results: “I feel really proud of my results as I attained what I targeted.” Preparing for the major examinations was not easy for Dini, who has three younger siblings whom she helps to take care of. On top of that, she noticed that some of her friends were going through a difficult time and was a pillar of strength for them. “It was really stressful. However, I figured out how to manage the load, and reached out for help from my teachers,” she said. Dini will be doing a Higher Nitec course at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE).

The 5 student-athletes from the Normal (Technical) stream also did well and progressed to a Nitec programme at ITE.

Footballer Muhammad Fairuz Muhammad Fazli Koh, who took the GCE N(Technical) examinations this year, was pleasantly surprised when he received his results. Fairuz was afraid that his results would be affected as he had distractions that made it difficult for him to focus when home-based learning was conducted. He shared, “Even though it was a challenging year, I did my best to prepare for the examinations. I am very happy with my results and am grateful to my teachers for their assistance and support.” Fairuz will be pursuing Electronics Engineering at ITE. At the same time, he hopes to continue building his skills in football and become a professional in the future.
