During Mother Tongue Fortnight from 28 February to 7 March 2025, student-athletes embarked on a meaningful journey of cultural discovery, engaging in hands-on activities that enriched their understanding of their heritage. Through these immersive experiences, they deepened their connection to their mother tongue, exploring its rich history and its powerful role in shaping their identity.

Chinese lessons were interesting for our student-athletes, as they learnt knot tying, seal carving, and Chinese painting!

Student-athletes had loads of fun making musical instruments, clay lamp decorating, and playing traditional Indian games during Tamil lessons!

From dumpling making and Chinese knot tying to Jawi calligraphy and Indian traditional games, they explored the rich traditions of various cultures. Highlights included Chinese seal carving, batik painting, clay lamp decorating, and even crafting musical instruments. These immersive experiences fostered an appreciation for our diverse heritage and strengthened student-athletes’ sense of identity beyond the sporting arena.
