Top Bowlers Turn Top Performance At IBF World Youth Champs
Bowling – IBF World Youth Championships
Our bowlers featured on the world stage once again and this time, post-secondary student-athletes Colleen Pee and Nur Irdina Hazly were part of Team Singapore at the IBF World Youth Championships held in Incheon, Korea from 7 to 18 July 2024.
Colleen teamed up with fellow national bowler Arianne Tay to win joint-bronze in the Women’s Doubles event. The duo secured second place in the Women’s Matchplay stage and faced their opponents from Sweden in the semi-finals. Despite winning the first set, they were overpowered by the Swedes who won the 2nd and 3rd sets.
Irdina and Colleen paired with Arianne and Ning Tay in the Women’s Teams event. After steadily despatching their opponents from Norway in the semi-finals, they faced a strong showing by Team Malaysia in the finals and walked away second best in the competition.
Even though they did not secure the top spots in their events, they did perform well across all events and were awarded the coveted Overall Federation Champion Girls trophy.
