2021 Singapore Sports School e-Open House

For the second time in 17 years, Singapore Sports School launched its Open House online on 27 March 2021. Themed #weareSSPecial, visitors will learn more about Sports School’s unique features and programmes through online activities and videos.

A highlight of this year’s edition was a webinar session that was held for the first time. It drew more than 250 attendees who learnt more about the school through a talk by Principal Ong Kim Soon, and sharing by alumnus Nicholas Rachmadi and student-athlete Jaslyn Hooi Yue Yann (Extended DBS). Nicholas and Jaslyn shared their experiences of being nurtured at Sports School, and how their Sports School journey has contributed to their sport and academic success, and character development. The webinar ended with a Question and Answer segment where a panel consisting of the school’s management staff answered “burning” questions from parents. A barrage of questions came flooding in, and staff on and off the camera answered them promptly and to thumbs-up from many parents, who praised the professionalism of the responses and the format of the digital event.

Two live chat sessions were also held on 27 March and 31 March, when Sports School staff engaged interested students and their parents one-on-one with their queries.
