The skies were clear on 2 November 2019 to mark a good start of the day as 14 Singapore Sports School Under 15 footballers crossed the Woodlands Checkpoint to meet their Sekolah Sukan Tunku Mahkota Ismail (SSTMI) U15 counterparts for a friendly match at Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Despite losing to the better side, the team put up a strong fight at the match and we gained several important lessons to improve our skills. For example, we could have easily prevented some goals that we conceded and our finishing could have been better. The event has also gave us an idea of our neighbour’s football standard.

Apart from football, the team mingled with SSTMI’s players and had a good time chatting with them over lunch at their Cafeteria. Overall, it was a fruitful day of football and friendship. The team looks forward to more of such trips in future.
