Student Reflection - Age Group Tour To Kuala Lumpur

Netball Academy, Secondary 4
Over the National Day holiday from the 10 to 12 August 2023, I had the privilege to represent Singapore in the National Sports Association Age Group Trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for friendly games with the local Bukit Jalil Sports School’s national team. Two teams, the Under-17s and Under-19s were sent to play the Bukit Jalil Sports School teams respectively.
Out of the 12-member Under-17 contingent, four of them, comprising Angelina Haney Anurika Mckevin Lawrence, Grania Koh Yan Zhen, and myself as well as Ella Wong Lok Yiu (Secondary 3), were from Sports School. Meanwhile, our seniors, Cheyenne Lim Hwee Suan, Kimberly Koh Jing Ting (both IBDP, Year 6), Megan Low (IBDP, Year 5), Jernise Moh Jing Wen (Diploma in Business, Year 1), Ho Sue-Ann and Tham May Xin (both alumnae), were the Under-19 team.
We had so much fun during the course of the three days, where we had team bonding games and spent our free time studying together and interacting with one another. Though the trip was short, I gained so much more experience playing against a taller and faster opposing team, learning from new coaches and teammates, as well as admiring how the seniors played.
