Plunging To Victory At SEA Age Championships
45th SEA Age Championships Jakarta 2023
14 swimmers from Sports School and 2 swimmers from the NTC@SSP jumped at the opportunity to compete at the 45th SEA AGE Championships held in Jakarta, Indonesia from 24 to 26 August 2023. They were among the 96-member Team Singapore contingent who participated in the Championships that featured three events, namely, Swimming, Diving, and Water Polo.
Team Sports School contributed 12 medals to Singapore’s record-breaking medal tally and achieved 10 personal bests. Secondary 3 student-athlete, Vivienne Chew En, led in medal count with 3 silver and 3 bronze, while Secondary 1 student-athletes Joy Neo Ning Suan and Julia Yeo Shu Ning won 2 bronze medals each. Taka Leong Kin Rong also won a silver in Boys’ 100m Breaststroke (16-18 years old).
Diploma in Business, Year 3 student-athlete Derek Chan Wen Kai also put up an impressive showcase of teamwork and determination in the Men’s U20 Water Polo team that was crowned champions. Meanwhile, Loh Yu Xuan and Clarissa Tio Ji San contributed significantly to the Women's Water Polo team, and Secondary 1 diver Tyler Lee Dee Oon also did his best and achieved commendable results.
