Chloe Tan Zhi Yu, Sophie Tan Ying Er and Ong Shi Han received ROAR Awards for their exemplary conduct.
Chloe Tan, a Secondary 3 student-athlete from the Shooting Academy, demonstrated care, respect and inclusivity when she stepped up to help her junior integrate into boarding and school life. Through providing sound guidance and support to her junior, she showcased her deep compassion and understanding toward others.
Chloe’s kind and empathetic attitude left a positive and indelible impression on her junior. She models the way for other student-athletes to embrace these values of respect and inclusivity, fostering a more compassionate school community for all. Her actions won her the ROAR Award for the month of June.
Netballers Sophie Tan and Ong Shi Han from Secondary 3 also received ROAR Awards for their kindness and compassion when they aided an injured guest.
During the joint National Day celebrations with Woodlands Gardens School (WGS), a staff member from WGS fell and required immediate assistance. Shi Han and Sophie both took the initiative to step up and assist her, promptly bringing in a wheelchair and obtaining an ice pack to support the injured staff member.
Shi Han and Sophie remained by her side to offer help in any way they could, demonstrating initiative, care, and commitment to ensuring the staff's comfort and well-being. Their incredible kindness and quick reaction during a time of need set a positive example for their peers.
The ROAR Award is presented to student-athletes who exemplify the school’s core values of Respect, Integrity, Responsibility, Excellence, and Resilience.
