Gymnasts Leap To Podium Finish
Singapore Gymnastics Classic, 1st JRC RG Stars Championships
All eyes were on Secondary 3 student-athlete Jovi Loh, as he soared through the air, executing his leaps and turns with strength, agility and grace. His feats eventually won the praise of the judges, and he claimed the title for the Floor Exercise event. He went on to win another 5 medals – 3 silver and 2 bronze in the Rings, Vault, High Bar, Pommel Horse, and Parallel Bars events. This made him the biggest winner among 9 other past and present student-athletes who had participated in the Singapore Gymnastics Classic. In total, the team clinched a whopping 21 medals, including 7 titles, at the competition held from 3 to 4 December 2022.
His senior, Asher Pua, also put up a golden performance for Vault, and his junior Xavier Pang aced the competition in Pommel Horse to win the title.
In the Men’s Artistic Senior category, Muhammad Mikhail Haziq and alumnus Kaeson Lim won gold for Floor Exercise and Pommel Horse respectively.
The rhythmic gymnasts also put up outstanding performances which won Thea Chew and Sophia Ho gold medals in Clubs for the Junior and Senior categories respectively.
