Gymnasts Bag 25 Medals
Singapore Gymnastics Lunar Cup
9 gymnasts impressed judges with their spins, twists and turns which landed them a whooping 25 medals at the Singapore Gymnastics Lunar Cup held from 11 to 12 February 2023.
The biggest winner from Team Sports School is second-year Diploma in Business Studies student Kho Tong-Yu, who participated in the senior category for the first time. He swept 5 medals, including 4 golds in Floor Exercise, Still Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars. Another gymnast who was beaming from his achievements was Secondary 3 gymnast Jovi Loh. He clinched two medals of each colour, winning a total of 6 medals at the competition. Asher Pua also performed well to return home with 5 medals, including a gold in Vault.
Secondary 2 student-athlete Thea Chew and Sophia Ho Jin Wen who is in the Diploma in Business course were also garlanded gold medals in the competition. Thea was crowned the champion for Hoops in the Junior Category, while Sophia clinched 2 golds in ball and ribbon events in the Senior Category.
The other participants, Thea Chew, Faith Hong, Sophia Ho, Amelyn Sng, Cleo Chew and alumna Leah Chew, also returned home with medals from the competition.
