Chinese New Year Celebrations
On 9 February 2024, a festive atmosphere enveloped The Arena as the school gathered to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. 28 elderly from Care Corner Woodlands Active Centre added a special touch to the festivity.
The festivities kicked off with a scrumptious special Chinese New Year menu. Our student-athletes, who accompanied the elderly from the Care Corner to our school, joined them for breakfast and chatted with them.
There were 20 dragons incorporated in the special dragon dance performance, symbolising the 20 years of nurturing Learned Champions with Character since 2004. Student-athletes from the Multi-Sport Academy and Track and Field Academy showed that they have diverse talents as they captivated the audience with their spectacular performance.
To enhance everyone's understanding of Chinese New Year, student-athletes and staff participated in a quiz and presentation conducted by the IBDP student-athletes.
No Chinese New Year celebration is complete without a traditional lion dance performance!
Student-athletes, staff and elderly did calligraphy together!
The God of Fortune graced his presence, symbolising good luck and prosperity for the upcoming year.
