Smashing Medal Haul
Badminton Alpha Age Group (June) Series
It was an action-packed June holidays for Singapore Sports School’s shuttlers! Their third competition for the month, the Alpha Age Group Series (Jun) 2022, was played from 23 June to 3 July 2022. Our student-athletes rallied their strength and rode on their successes from the previous two tournaments to continue their amazing performances on the courts.
Sparring with local and foreign players, our student-athletes played very well, swiping a total of 23 medals and achieved podium finishes in every event they participated in. Sophie Aleena Likwan (Secondary 1), Heng Xiao En (Secondary 4), and Megan Lee Xinyi (Diploma in Business Studies, Year 1) smashed their way to the top of the U15, U17, and U19 Girls’ Singles events respectively. The U19 Boys’ Doubles category was also dominated by our shuttlers as they claimed all podium spots, while the U17 duos had a 1-2 finish.
What a way to wrap up the June holidays with an excellent medal haul!
