Cycling: Thailand Track National Championship, Malaysia BMX National Championships
Mikha Zuhayr Norman also cycled his way to victory in the Men’s Junior category, bagging a stunning gold medal at the Malaysia BMX National Championships. The Championships was held in Nilai on 6 July 2024.
Jiu-Jitsu: Asian Regional Jujitsu Championships
Secondary 1 student-athlete Mendel Tan and alumna Teh May Yong returned to Singapore from the Asian Regional Jujitsu Championships in Bal with a bronze medal each. Mendel's bronze was in the U16 Male -52kg event while May Yong placed 3rd in Women’s -52kg. Together with their medals, Team Singapore racked up 11 medals at the Championships.
Taekwondo: International Taekwondo Masters Open Championship 2024 (Singapore)
Secondary 2 student-athlete Tuah Iskander won 3 gold medals at the International Taekwondo Masters Open Championship 2024 (Singapore) at Our Tampines Hub. Tuah, who enrolled into Singapore Sports School as a pencak silat exponent, has expanded his skills to taekwondo, demonstrating resilience and hard work.
His gold medals were in Individual Male Poomsae - Red 2, Team Male Poomsae - Red 2, and Male Division E Coloured Belt under 50kg Kyorugi.
Track and Field: Hong Kong Inter-City Athletics Championships, AW-MSSM-SSSC International Athletics Championships
At the Hong Kong Inter-City Athletics Championships on 6 to 7 July 2024, post-secondary student-athletes Laavinia Jaiganth earned double silver medals in the U20 200m and 400m events. Lucas Fun, Huang Weijun, and Ifeanyichukwu Asyaraff Ibrahim Molokwu proudly returned to Singapore with bronze medals in 110m hurdles, 200m, and 400m respectively.
Additionally, Megan Chng and Ethan Roman did well at the AW-MSSM-SSSC International Athletics Championships in Kuala Lumpur from 13 to 14 July. The both of them helped their respective U15 4x100m relay teams secure a commendable 2nd place.
Sport Climbing: SG Climb One, Singapore National Boulder League (Sendstorm)
Janelle, who is in Secondary 1, reached the top spot at the SG Climb One Speed event on 13 July 2024. She also participated in the boulder competition organised by Boulder+ Climbing from 20 to 21 July, and emerged the champion in the Youth ‘C’ category.
Her senior Natalie Goh secured gold in both at SG Climb One and National Boulder League (Sendstorm).
