Swimmers And Trackers Unlock Potential At TSSG

25th Thailand Sports School Games


17 swimmers and 32 Track and Field student-athletes participated in the 25th Thailand Sports School Games, held in Trang Province from 20 to 29 July 2024. The swimmers kicked off the competitive action, securing an impressive 57 medals (23 gold, 18 silver, 16 bronze) and achieving 37 personal bests. Their stellar performance earned them an overall second-place finish on the leaderboard.

Among the boys, Kidd Ang Shao Kai stood out from the crowd, winning 4 gold medals in the Boys' 13-14 50m Butterfly, 100m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle, and 200m Freestyle events. He also set new personal bests in all 5 events he competed in, which earned him the Most Valuable Player title for U14 Boys.

Not to be outdone, Casey Chua shone among the girls, claiming 5 gold medals in the Girls' 13-14 100m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 200m Freestyle, and 400m Freestyle events. She also set a new personal best in the 100m Butterfly with a time of 1:06.15, and ultimately secured the Most Valuable Player title for U14 girls.

Joy Neo Ning Suan also delivered a strong performance, winning 4 gold medals in the Girls' 13-14 50m Breaststroke, 100m Breaststroke, 200m Breaststroke, and 200m Individual Medley events. The Secondary 2 student-athlete set a new personal best in the 50m Breaststroke with a time of 34.58 seconds.

The girls’ collective effort at the competition led them to clinch the Girls's Overall Trophy. To top it off, senior swimming coach See Puay Kheng was also recognised at the games. He was honoured with the U14 Boys and Girls Best Coach Award.


On the track, our Track and Field athletes battled through the heat to win a total of 13 medals. Nichole Lim Yi Han and Sharifah Falisha Syed Ahmed Riadh excelled in their respective events, with Nichole winning the Girls' U14 Triple Jump gold medal and Sharifah clinching gold in the Girls' U18 Long Jump. Sharifah also earned a silver in the Girls' U18 Triple Jump, while Nichole contributed to two team bronze medals in the Girls’ U14 4x100m Relay and the Girls’ U14 Medley Relay.

Jessie Tan Qian Chi from the Multi-Sports Academy also made her mark, securing a bronze in the Girls' U14 Pentathlon, a combined track and field event in which each participant competes in five events over one day.
