Fencers Parried Challenges And Dominated Novices Challenge
2022 Novices Challenge
Having trained hard since entering Singapore Sports School, our young fencers got to show what they were made of when they wielded their blades against other competitors aged 13 to 17, in the 2022 Novices Challenge.
Foilists Maaravis Sita Naidu and Gianna Koh Shao Yuan (both Secondary 2) battled their way to the top and secured the individual gold and silver medals in the Cadet Women’s Foil category. Natallie Chan Yin Xin (Secondary 3), Jaida Quah Hao Xun and Cari-Anne Ong (both Secondary 2) capped their dominance in the competition by sweeping the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in the Cadet Women’s Sabre category.
In the Cadet Team Women’s Epee category, trio Lee En Qi, Ong Nhat Anh Thu (both Secondary 2) and Isabelle Lee Ern Swan (Secondary 1) added gloss to the medal haul by performing well to finish first and bringing home the gold medal.
