At the 2024 ICTSI Philippine Athletics Championships held from 8 to 12 May 2024, Victoria Chua Si Yu, a IBDP Year 5 student-athlete, not only won a bronze medal but also set a new personal best in the U18 Girls’ 2000m Steeplechase. Third-year Diploma in Business student-athlete Jamie El-Redha Ang Norhisham delivered impressive performances in the 100m and 200m events despite the scorching heat in the Philippines. Meanwhile, Abdul Raqib Abdul Razak, Raam Kumar Muthukumaran, and Sheik Fayz Sheik Alau’ddin represented Singapore admirably at the Perak Open from 10-12 May.
Sheik’s impressive performance from the Perak Open extended into the KL Open. With his gold-medal winning throw of 40.65m, Fayz has earned the honour of becoming a member of the Men’s Discus Throw Club40, a commendable testament for him as he vies for a spot at the next SEA Games.
