Golfers Notch Podium Finishes
Nomura Cup, Singapore Junior Masters 2022, HSBC Youth Golf Challenge cum 4th National Ranking Game, Women’s Amateur Asia Pacific Championship, Johor Amateur Open, Sarawak Amateur Open
It has been an exciting month for golfers as they have ventured to make a name for themselves through local and international competitions. A significant win for Team Singapore is its second-place finish at the Nomura Cup. Brandon Han Zhen Guang, who is in the extended Diploma in Business Studies programme, was in the team that made history by achieving Singapore’s best-ever results at the biennial Asia-Pacific Amateur Golf Team Championship. Brandon played an important role in leading the team to its victory by recording a one-under 71, bettering Singaporean teammates James Leow and Ryan Ang’s results, and ensuring his score was counted for the first time.
He went on to win the Singapore Junior Masters 2022 two weeks later, held from 28 to 30 November at the Laguna National Golf Resort Club. He led the table in the Open Division category against competitors from Malaysia, Sweden, and Thailand.
Brandon, and fellow golfers from Singapore Sports School, dominated the podiums at the HSBC Youth Golf Challenge cum 4th National Ranking Game held from 3 to 5 November 2022 at Orchid Country Club. At the HSBC Youth Golf Challenge 1st Leg, Irvyn Tan Sheng Kang (Diploma in Business, Year 1), Jillian Kuk Jia Lin (IBDP, Year 5) and Chen Xingtong (Secondary 2) were title winners for their respective categories.
