Hera Iman Mohamad Ahsik, Singapore Sports School’s only obstacle course racer, represented Singapore at the Malaysia Deka Fit 2022 on 12 November 2022. The 18-year old made the nation proud by winning a silver medal in the 18-24 years old category in a gruelling competition comprising ten rounds of 500m runs and a obstacle station. Hera came in 17th overall in the competition.

Taekwondo: 2022 Online World Police Taekwondo Championships & International Open Taekwondo Championships

Even though the judges of the 2022 Online World Police Taekwondo Championships & International Open Taekwondo Championships had to assess Gwen Koh En Qi’s (Secondary 1) skills and techniques on a screen, she was able to impress them. She received a Gold Award in the Open Individual Female Cadet 12-14 years category.

Water Polo: Asian Water Polo Championships

Team Singapore put up a strong fight at the Asian Water Polo Championships held in Thailand from 7 to 14 November 2022. Derek Chan Wen Kai (Diploma in Business, Year 2) was part of the Men’s Team which finished 6th, while Michelle Tan Ting Yee (extended IBDP), Chow Yan Teng, Koh Ting Ting and Koh Xiao Li (all alumnae) were part of the Women’s Team that finished 5th in the Championships.

Wrestling: Philippines National Wrestling Open

At the Philippines National Wrestling Open held at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna from 26 to 27 November 2022, both female and male wrestlers brought home medals. Secondary 2 wrestler Heba Lutfina Mohammed Jbour outclassed her Filipino opponent by scoring an impressive 10-0 victory in the 46kg Girls’ category to capture the gold medal. Diploma in Business Year 1 student-athlete Aryan Azman returned home with 2 gold medals from the Men’s category.
