Exciting International Youth Netball Action In Singapore
12th International Youth Netball Challenge
8 youth netball teams from Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, Hong Kong and Australia competed in the 12th International Youth Netball Challenge hosted by the Singapore Sports School. The competition, held from 21 to 27 November, saw our very own netballers facing formidable youth teams and learning through competing.
It was amazing to see the different qualities that the teams brought to the court. Some were playing fast-paced games, while others showcased better control and off-the-ball runs. It was also heartwarming to see the netballers immediately getting to know each other and breaking the ice with their own warmth and hospitality.
The stronger competitors started showing their strengths early in the competition with Stellenberg from South Africa, Bacchus Marsh Grammar from Australia, and Bukit Jalil Sports School from Malaysia emerging as forces to be reckoned with. After a week-long competition, Stellenberg proved to be the dominating force, and they faced Bacchus Marsh Grammar in the finals. Although the latter put up a good fight, the netballers from Stellenberg were too much to handle and ended the match with a score of 20-60 in favour of the South Africans.
It was a great competition for all the netballers, and we hope to see them again at the 13th International Youth Netball Challenge!
