Our past and present fencers wielded their swords in the Singapore Senior Challenge on 25 September and 22 October 2022 and came out tops in five categories. Singapore Schools Sports Council Best Sportsboy 2022 for Fencing, Joel Chiu Ka Jyn (Extended IBDP), led the charge to top the Senior Men’s Foil category. Joel faced a strong opponent in the semi-finals but managed to keep his cool in the heat of competition to win the bout 15-13. In the finals, he edged his competitor 15-9 to secure top spot.

Dan Wei Zuo (Diploma in Business Studies, Year 2), Chan Phu Xien (alumnus) and Lucas Tan Wei Feng (Secondary 4) dominated the Senior Men’s Sabre category by securing a 1-2-3 finish respectively. It was the same situation for Juliet Heng Jia Min (Diploma in Business Studies, Year 1), Nicole Wee Sher Tynn and Jean Koh (both alumnae) in the Senior Women’s Sabre category.

In the Senior Women’s Foil, Cheung Kemei’s (IBDP, Year 5) form proved too hot for her opponents as she claimed the top spot. Simon Lee Renjie (Diploma in Business Studies, Year 3) played in the Senior Men’s Epee category on 22 October 2022 and did well to top the competition.
