Shooters Target Triumph And A New Experience

3rd Thailand Open Shooting Championship


From 9 to 15 September 2024, the Shooting Academy showcased remarkable precision and skills at the 3rd Thailand Open Shooting Championship, clinching an impressive haul of 16 medals (6 gold, 5 silver, 5 bronze) in both the Open and Junior categories.

Freya Lim emerged as a standout performer in the Junior category, clinching an individual gold medal in the 10m Air Rifle Women event. Teaming up with Lim Yet Kee and Jeslyn Woo, Freya went on to secure another gold in the 10m Air Rifle Women Team event, showcasing her talent and teamwork.

However, her winning streak did not just end there. The Secondary 1 student-athlete continued to shine by scoring a hat-trick victory in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event, where she and teammate Gabriel Ho claimed yet another gold.

In the Open categories, Faithe Odelia de Souza demonstrated her exceptional talent, bringing home a silver medal in the 10m Air Rifle Women Individual event. She then joined forces with teammates Jillian Su and Bernice Lim to secure gold in the 10m Air Rifle Women Team event.

She triumphed again in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event, winning gold alongside her teammate Lee Zhe Kai, who stood out among the boys. Zhe Kai not only captured individual silver in the 10m Air Rifle Men (Open) event but also contributed to a gold medal win in the team event with teammates Eston Soo and Au Yong Yi Yong.

For many of our student-athletes, this championship was more than just a competition; it was an eye-opening experience. They faced off against high-level shooters from Thailand, India, the Philippines, and the UAE, including several Olympians, gaining invaluable insights and inspiration.
