Cycling: YSD Track Series

Valencia Tan, dominated the YSD Track Series held in Nilai from 20 to 22 September 2024.  Valencia had four podium finishes, securing 1st place in the Scratch Race, 2nd in the Elimination and Keirin, and 3rd in the Sprint events.  

Golf: 2024 Asian Junior Golf Team Championship

Golfer Aaron Lee, who is a current IBDP Year 5 student-athlete, was part of the trio that finished 3rd in the boy’s team event at the Asian Junior Golf Team Championship in South Korea from 10 to 12 September 2024. Chen Xingtong and Passion Hsu on the other hand were part of the girl’s team that finished 4th in the Championship.

Multi-Sport: 2024 National Cycling Esports Individual Championships

Multi-Sport Academy student-athletes Chong Qi En, Abigail Ng and Jacob Gao who made podium at the 2024 National Cycling E-Sports Individual Championships on 21 September 2024. They got on their stationary bikes and raced virtually in the youth event – covering 13.4km in the finals with 136 elevation in two laps. After a heart-pounding race, Qi En and Abigail took 2nd and 3rd position in the female category while Jacob finished 2nd in the male category.

Triathlon: 2024 National Age Group Aquathlon, Singapore Aquathlon Championships, Singapore International Triathlon

Reyes Loh, IBDP Year 5 student-athlete, set a remarkable performance to claim the top spot in the Male Junior 1 category at the 2024 Aquathlon Series Championships. 

In addition, Lim Cheng Yu, a first-year Diploma in Business student-athlete, won gold in the Men Junior Elite category at the 2024 National Age Group Aquathlon in Manila, Philippines. His timing of 15:19 placed him 2nd overall during the competition on 29 September 2024. Earlier, he took 2nd place in the Male Elite Junior 16-19 category at the Singapore International Triathlon, held on 15 September 2024.

Weightlifting: Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships

Weightlifter David Mok broke the national record at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships! With a stunning 118kg clean and jerk, he punches above his weight to etch his name in history. The Championships were held in Fiji from 16 to 21 September 2024.

Wrestling: 2024 Southeast Asian Championship and Oceania Tournament

In this maiden regional competition, McClaren Ravin won a bronze in the Under-17 Greco Roman Wrestling 71kg category at the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship and Oceania Tournament from 25 to 29 September 2024 in Chiangmai, Thailand. Team Singapore won 1 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze at the championship.
