Bowling Alumna Crowned Champion At Women’s Open Masters

Singapore Sports School alumna Iliya Syamim gave us reasons to celebrate as she secured the Women's Open Masters gold medal in the 45th Hong Kong International Open Masters Stepladder Finals on 20 July 2019.

Twenty year old Iliya had made it an uphill task for her Malaysian opponent Nur Amirah Auni to emulate her achievement throughout the game, and eventually enjoyed sweet success with a convincing 215 pinfalls to Nur Amirah Auni's 160.

Iliya is the third Sports School alumna to win titles in overseas bowling competitions in recent months. In May, Sports School alumna Charlene Lim Jia Yi, also 20, clinched the Malaysian International Open crown, while 19 year old alumna Amabel Chua Jiaying, won the Philippine Open in Manila in June.
