Swimmers End Bangkok Swim Meet With A Bang

Swimming: 23rd Royal Bangkok Sports Club Invitational Swim Meet 2024


12 Sports School swimmers made waves at the 23rd Royal Bangkok Sports Club Invitational Swim Meet 2024 held in Bangkok, showcasing their skills and determination over the five action-packed days from 28 November to 2 December 2024. The meet saw swimmers from across the region competing fiercely for top honours, and our swimming captured an impressive medal haul of 14 gold, 16 silver and 13 bronze medals.

Their performance not only demonstrated individual excellence, but also showcased their strength as a team, as their overall performance at the competition earned them the Best Average Score as a team and came in 2nd Runner-Up with the overall highest points.

Among the many standout performances, Kidd Ang emerged as the star swimmer amongst the boys, clinching a total of 6 gold and 1 silver medals. Kidd’s dominance across multiple events solidified his status as one of the top swimmers in his age group, with remarkable victories in both individual and relay events.

Meanwhile, Stephanie Kwa stood out among the girls to claim her moment of glory and contributed significantly to the team's overall gold medal tally. The alumna, who recently graduated from the Class of 2024 IBDP cohort, secured a total of 6 gold medals in her age group individual and relay events. She also took home 2 silver and 1 bronze medals in her backstroke and freestyle events respectively.

Not to be outdone, Wilmer Ong earned 2 gold and 3 silver medals for the team, showing impressive technique and stamina in his events. Reyes Loh did just as well, contributing to 3 gold medals in the relay events, as well as 3 individual silver and 1 individual bronze medals.

As a result of their stellar achievements, Kidd Ang, Stephanie Kwa, Wilmer Ong, and Reyes Loh were all named the Most Valuable Player in their respective age groups, further highlighting their outstanding performances throughout the meet.
