Trackers’ Thrilling Triumphs

Track and Field: 54th Singapore Athletics Inter-Club Championships 2024, POL-ITE Track and Field Championships 2024, Club Zoom PEERS Prime International Invitational Championships, 3rd Singapore Athletics-Club Zoom Kids’ Athletics Team Championships 2024, 16th SEA Youth Athletics Championships 2024, 58th Melaka Open Athletics Championships 2024

Our track and field student-athletes have had an extraordinary two months, competing and excelling in a series of prestigious competitions across Singapore and Malaysia.


At the 54th Singapore Athletics Inter-Club Championships 2024 held on 9 and 10 November 2024 at Yio Chu Kang Stadium, our trackers delivered stellar performances. In the women’s events, Laavinia Jaiganth swept the gold medals in the 100m, 200m, and 400m events. She also anchored the 4x100m relay team to victory. Zara Almira Abdul Aziz shone as well, taking gold in the Women’s Long Jump and contributing to podium finishes in the relay events.

In the men’s events, Elijah Tan impressed by securing third place in the High Jump and silver in the Long Jump. Meanwhile, Sheik Fayz Sheik Alau’ddin showcased his strength in the throw events, earning bronze in both the Discus Throw and Shot Put.


During the POL-ITE Track and Field Championships 2024, which took place over the same weekend, our student-athletes continued their dominance. Elijah Tan once again demonstrated his skill, claiming top spots in the Men’s High Jump and Long Jump. Sheik Fayz Sheik Alau’ddin took gold in the Discus Throw and Shot Put. Abdul Raqib Abdul Razak clinched the Men’s 110m Hurdles title, while the Men’s 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams secured gold with powerful finishes. Zara Almira Abdul Aziz and Laavinia Jaiganth continued their winning streak in the 100m, 400m, and relay events, cementing their reputation as top contenders.


On 23 November, our Under-15 student-athletes made their mark at the Club Zoom PEERS Prime International Invitational Championships. The U15 girls took the top spots in the 400m, 4x100m relay and long jump events. Among them, Aura Ramadhania Muhammad Nizar dominated her events as she captured gold in the 100m and 200m and was part of the gold-winning 4x100m relay team.


At the 11th Club Zoom Kindred Spirit Track and Field Championships 2024, our student-athletes achieved 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals.















The 3rd Singapore Athletics-Club Zoom Kids’ Athletics Team Championships 2024, held on 24 November at Yio Chu Kang Stadium, showcased the immense potential of the school’s Under-13 athletes. The team clinched gold in their category, demonstrating the promising future of track and field at Singapore Sports School.


Our trackers also shone at the 16th SEA Youth Athletics Championships 2024, held from 28-30 November in Sabah, Malaysia. Zara Almira Abdul Aziz represented Singapore and brought home a bronze medal in the U18 Women’s 4x100m Relay, making the school and nation proud.

On 14 and 15 December, the 58th Melaka Open Athletics Championships 2024 took place at the Malaysia Technology University Stadium. Abdul Raqib Abdul Razak earned silver in the Men’s 110m Hurdles, while Niq Rifdi Rafiqi Yusran also claimed silver in the Men’s 400m Hurdles. Sharifah Falisha Syed Ahmed Riadh secured a silver medal in the Women’s Long Jump.
