Singapore Golf Team Sets Sight On Sea Games Gold
Putra Cup 2019
Singapore Sports School alumni Nicklaus Chiam Yew Chun and Low Wee Jin, and post-secondary student-athlete, Justin Kuk Zheng Zhong, who were part of the Singapore golf team, gave us reasons to cheer at the Putra Cup 2019 held in Hanoi, Vietnam, from 24 to 27 July.
The team clinched the first Singapore team gold at Southeast Asia's premier amateur tournament since 2011 with a combined 12-under 852. Nicklaus has also given us more reasons celebrate as he emerged victorious by claiming the individual event title, with an even-par 72 for a 13-under 275.
The Putra Cup 2019 has given the team a confidence boost for this year’s SEA Games where they are aiming for the SEA Games gold.
