Let’s groove to a wonderful year together! After an address by Principal, the school year started with student-athletes and staff learning the school dance.
The Secondary 2 student-athletes had inter-CCE group games after their mentor-mentee time and mento-led games called ‘Run-Kids-Run’. On 3 January, they spent their day at Marina Bay Sands together.
The Secondary 3 student-athletes started the new year with class ice breakers to get to know their new classmates better. The inter-class games later in the day was a wonderful way for them to end their first day of school. The following day, they went to the Singapore Zoological Gardens with their peers.
How well do you know your CCE Group? That was how the first day started for the Secondary 4s and 5s who played ‘Human Bingo’ and ‘2 Truths and 1 Lie’. They also explored art, play and wellness through 3D printing, making bracelets and doing yoga. The Secondary 4s and 5s had their outing to Jewel the next day.
The Year 5 IBDP student-athletes also got to know each other better through orientation activities. They ended their first day with a CAS presentation and a Theory of Knowledge Exhibition. They had an enjoyable second-day playing paintball with their new classmates.
On 6 January, student-athletes headed out for learning journeys to various locations.
One of the highlights of the Start Right Programme was the return of alumna Amanda Lim who addressed the student-athletes as part of the 'Lessons from the Champions' series. Amanda shared invaluable insights from her athletic journey, offering wisdom on balancing sports and academics. She stressed the importance of time management, asking questions when in doubt, and staying focused on clear, specific goals. Amanda also encouraged us to write down our goals and keep them visible as a constant reminder of what we're working toward.
