Bowlers Make Asian Impact
36th Asian Intercity Bowling Championships
Our bowlers made a stellar impression at the 36th Asian Intercity Bowling Championships held from 24 to 31 October 2024 in Shah Alam, Malaysia. Competing against top talent from across the region, Singapore Sports School athletes brought home impressive accolades, showcasing their dedication, skill, and resilience.
Hazel Tan Wei Ning showed her individual strength in the Women’s Masters, securing a bronze medal in a challenging field of competitors.
In the Women’s Doubles event, Nura Salsabila Zulkifli and Jerlyn Lam Si Ting demonstrated exceptional synergy, earning a well-deserved silver medal. Their focus and precision placed them firmly among the top pairs in the competition.
In the Men’s Team event, Jayan Kuay, Rayden Lim Yisheng, Brian Ngoi Kai Ren, and Mark Leong Yew Chen worked seamlessly together to clinch a bronze medal.
Over at Japan Open from 1 to 4 November at Inazawa Grand Bowl, Team Singapore delivered outstanding performances, bringing home 4 medals. Past and present student-athletes contributed to 3 of the medals won during the competition.
Lim Shi En and Charmaine Chang were part of the four-member team that captured a gold medal in the Women's Team event. Shi En’s success continued with a strong 4th-place finish in the Women’s Singles, scoring 647 pinfalls, while Charmaine demonstrated her versatility, earning a bronze in the Women’s Doubles.
Alumnus Xavier Teo also showcased his talent and dedication by winning silver in the Men's Team event with a score of 2631 pinfalls, adding to Singapore’s medal tally and further highlighting the strength of our student-athletes.
