Footballing Flair On The Field Yields Results At SYL

Football - Singapore Youth League

The Singapore Youth League has wrapped up another exciting season, and our young footballers have every reason to hold their heads high. Competing against some of the best teams in the league, our players poured their hearts out on the field and their skill, determination, and teamwork, culminated in a series of remarkable achievements.

Our Under-13 team delivered an exceptional performance, securing second place in Division 1. Over 11 intense matches, they showed incredible consistency, winning 10 games and losing only once — a testament to their hard work and resilience on the field. Their remarkable results reflect not only their talent but also their dedication to improving with each game.

"This season in the SYL, we gave it our all but fell just short against a strong JDT side, and ended up in second place. Along the way, we learned the importance of never giving up and standing by our teammates. Looking ahead, we’re determined to finish at the top next year. I also want to thank our parents for their unwavering support - from providing drinks to creating a supporters’ jersey, you made us feel united. And to our coaches, thank you for your guidance and for making Sports School feel like a second home," said Secondary 1 footballer Jack White.

Meanwhile, their seniors from the Under-15 team also shone in the competition, finishing as runners-up in their Division 1 league. Out of 13 matches, they achieved 9 victories, 2 draws, and only 2 losses. Their ability to compete at such a high level is a credit to their commitment and the guidance of their coaches.

Secondary 2 footballer Benaiah Joel Wangke shared his take on the season. “This season, our team showed consistency by working hard in every match and supporting each other in our roles. However, we learned the importance of focus and discipline, as moments of distraction cost us valuable points and a chance at first place. I want to thank Coach Miur, Coach Firdaus, and Mr Hafiz for their stalwart support and guidance throughout the season. And to our captains, Erdy and Darwisy, for being exemplary role models who inspired us with their leadership and values."

This has been a memorable season for our footballers and they are already looking forward to achieving more in the upcoming year!
