Valuable Partnerships To Fuel Motivation and Success
Feature – Partnership with Temasek Foundation and Corporate Sponsorship Support
Our student-athletes have received tremendous support in their sporting development and aspirations from various companies and organisations. Their support has been invaluable in boosting the motivation of student-athletes and enhancing the operations of the school.
One valued partner is Temasek Foundation who has provided the Temasek Foundation Scholarship for Sports and Temasek Foundation Study Award for Sports to deserving student-athletes. This year, 21 student-athletes received the Temasek Foundation Scholarship for Sports, while another 120 received the Temasek Foundation Study Award for Sports.
Secondary 4 student-athlete and golfer Chen Xingtong received recognition and support for her sporting pursuits through the Temasek Foundation Scholarship for Sports. The scholarship covers the school fees or tuition fees of deserving student-athletes with sport potential, good conduct and satisfactory academic results.
With the scholarship, Xingtong can focus on her sporting and academic pursuits, without worrying about finances. Xingtong emerged champion in the Singapore Open Amateur Championship, making her the youngest champions ever in the Championship, and also won the HSBC Women’s World Championship Local Qualifiers and Kartini Cup. She had also attained several other medal wins in various golf competitions that she has participated in 2024.
She shared, “I am deeply grateful to receive the Temasek Foundation Scholarship for Sports as it is not just a recognition of my hard work but also a means to lighten the financial burden on my family. This scholarship allows me to access more tournaments and training facilities, helping me achieve the goal of improving myself 1% every day.”
Shooter Rayfield Tay Yu Hong, who started his journey in the sport in Primary 3, is also grateful for the boost and recognition through the Temasek Foundation Scholarship for Sports. The former Beacon Primary School student, who had tried a variety of sports such as rock climbing and wushu as a young child before he chose Shooting, felt a sense of motivation after receiving the scholarship. He shared, “Whenever I receive the email stating that I have received this scholarship, I would always forward it to my mother, almost immediately. I find that receiving such aid is really important in my career because it not only allows me to reflect and realise how far I have come in my career, but it also has lightened the burden on my family which further pushes me to keep reminding myself that this is an opportunity that shouldn’t be thrown away. Receiving scholarships is always a blessing and a continuous motivator!”

In addition, corporate sponsorships have supported the development and success of student-athletes. Sunrise & Co (Pte) Ltd has been a steadfast partner of the Sports School, sponsoring Yonex apparel and equipment. They have generously provided PE T-shirts and tracksuits for the entire school and apparel and equipment for the Badminton Academy. Pacific Sports Ptd Ltd serves as the official equipment sponsor for the Netball Academy. Spectrum Sports is the official timekeeper and ensures the maintenance of the scoreboard for the Swimming Academy. V2 Sports supports the Table Tennis Academy by providing apparel and equipment. Corporate sponsorships also extend beyond equipment and infrastructure to include beverage support. Student-athletes can get an all-day supply of MILO at The Arena, thanks to the generous sponsorship from Nestlé Singapore. F&N provides 100 Plus, also available for student-athletes during and after training as a hydration drink. This not only helps enhance their physical health but also helps them meet the demands of their intensive training schedules.
Moreover, Singapore Airlines has demonstrated its commitment to our student-athletes by offering complimentary flights for selected overseas trips.
