Zeanne Law Zhi Ning was the biggest winner at Awards Night 2025. The 2023 Wushu World Champion received the pinnacle Moo Soon Chong Outstanding Student-Athlete of the Year, Outstanding Sports Achievement and MOE Edusave Character Award, which are testament of her all-rounded excellence in Sports School.
Zeanne started off 2024 on a high after winning the World Championship title in November 2023 as she was awarded the 2023 International Wushu Federation Wushu Taolu Rising Star Award in January 2024. She was awarded the Sportsgirl of the Year for her achievements in 2023 and was added to the list of spexScholarship recipients in 2024.
The mid-streamer who joined the Sports School to pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme after completing her secondary education at Chung Cheng High School (Main) continued to make an indelible mark on the international stage in 2024. She earned 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal at the 4th World Taijiquan Championship in Singapore, as well as a silver and bronze medal at the Taolu World Cup in Japan. Additionally, she also punched above her weight at the SJM 10th Asian Wushu Championships 2024 held in Macau, China, securing both a gold and a silver medal.
In her interview with The Straits Times, Zeanne shared, “When I was younger, the only goal I had was to do my best because I had nothing to lose when I was younger. But after receiving the world title, there was a bit of worry about having to defend this title, so I was quite worried in a few competitions in 2024. Thankfully, I was still able to perform well and that assured me that I could still do it, despite having worries and uncertainties.”
Zeanne, who was initially slated to complete her IBDP studies with the Class of 2024, decided to balance sports and studies by taking one paper later as she was representing Singapore at the World Cup. Zeanne intends to train full-time before continuing her university studies. She hopes to be able to pursue a degree in Speech Therapy in time.

After an exceptional 2023, which culminated in receiving the Moo Soon Chong Outstanding Student-Athlete of the Year Award (Secondary) at the 2024 Awards Night, Max Lee Shen Oon, a first-year Diploma in Business student-athlete, continued his impressive performance into the following year. This success earned him the same prestigious award in the post-secondary category at the 21st Awards Night. At the 46th Southeast Asia Age Group Championships in Bangkok, Max showcased his strength and skill, securing three gold medals in the 3m Individual, Boys’ Group A Platform, and Boys’ Synchronised 3m Group AB events. He also earned a silver medal in the Boys’ Synchronised Platform Group AB. Additionally, Max claimed another gold at the Malaysia Invitational Age Group Diving Championships and a silver at the 11th Asian Diving Championships. He further solidified his status as one of Singapore’s top local divers with a gold medal at the Singapore Inter-Schools Diving Championships.
When asked about his secret to success, Max shared, “To be a successful student-athlete, resilience, passion, and authenticity are key. Resilience helps you push through setbacks, passion keeps you going, and authenticity allows you to stay true to yourself and your journey.”
Reflecting on a major setback in 2024 when he did not qualify for the Olympics, Max explained, “Passion helped me overcome that challenge. My love for diving reminded me of why I started and kept me moving forward. Instead of dwelling on disappointment, I focused on training harder, refining my techniques, and building mental resilience. This mindset drove me to set new goals and treat every competition as a learning opportunity, knowing each step brings me closer to my dream.”
Max joined the Singapore Sports School as a mid-streamer from St. Patrick’s School in Secondary 3 to pursue his sporting aspirations. Since then, he has represented Singapore and medaled in two Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. At the 31st SEA Games, Max was the youngest member of Team Singapore, where he won a silver medal in the 10m Synchronised Platform. He continued his strong performance at the 32nd SEA Games, winning a bronze in the Men’s Platform. With his eyes set firmly on the future, Max is determined to achieve his ultimate goal of becoming an Olympian.
