NSG Water Polo Champs Again!
National School Games 2025: ‘B’ Division Water Polo Championships
Our water polo team has done it again! With an incredible display of teamwork, skill, and determination, they secured the National School Games ‘B’ Division Water Polo Championship title for the second consecutive year. The finals was held at Our Tampines Hub on 19 February 2025.
Facing off against Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), the team delivered a commanding performance, sealing a resounding 14-8 victory. From the first whistle to the last, they showcased their resilience, strong teamwork and tactical prowess.
The team seized control from the outset, jumping to a 5-0 lead and finishing the first quarter with a 6-2 advantage. They held a solid lead through a low-scoring second quarter, going into halftime with an 8-3 advantage. Despite ACS(I) outscoring Sports School in the third quarter, they still found themselves trailing 10-6 heading into the final seven minutes.
Throughout the tournament, our student-athletes exhibited unwavering commitment, training tirelessly to refine their technique and strategy.
In an interview with The Straits Times, team Captain Javier Ng, who scored 2 goals in the finals, said “Since last year, we’ve been preparing for the B Division competition and every day we train one to two times, and we barely have any rest. Even during Chinese New Year, we trained every day and rested only one day.”
“This win is not just a gold medal, but it’s (a testament to) the amount of effort we put in during the past few months”, he shared.
